Saturday Saturday Ooh I love my Saturday
Journal Entry: Sat Apr 14, 2012, 8:56 AM"Saturday Saturday ooh I love my Saturday.
Two thirds off, one third in"
This quote is from a friend of mine that shall remain nameless, though he had a nickname that is synonymous with a woman's breast.
(Hi everyone from Kootenay Crescent)
He was parodying the jingle from an old phone commercial, that went like this:
"Saturday, Saturday, ooh I like my Saturdays,
Two thirds off long distance every Saturday
I like my Saturday, to call my friends who moved away.
la, la, la la, that's not all
I call my friends for two thirds off!"
Quite the "rhyming" scheme, isn't it?
I couldn't find a link to the original commercial, and I can't remember if it was "like" or "love", so I'll just leave it up to you.

Here's what I remember:
ReplyDelete(Saturday, Saturday, ooh, I love my Saturdays

You can call Saturday don't wait till Monday ...)
I love my Saturday, call my friends who've moved away,
I can dial myself, and that's not all,
I get two-thirds off most every call
From Saturday noon till Sunday at six,
I call my friends till the discount ends ...
I remember the commercial well. Prior to it, Bell gave a long-distance discount only on Sundays, and the commercial was about the new discount on Saturdays. So it went"...you can call Saturday, don't wait for Sunday..." :)
DeleteThanks for posting this. I just remembered this ad. It had some cartoon ladies dancing like the Supreme's or something. This song will be stuck in my head forever....
ReplyDeleteI look for the recording often but can never find it
