Rob Ford's Political Garbage
Part of Toronto now has garbage pick-up from a private firm, as opposed to government workers.
The voters of Toronto CHOSE Rob Ford, primarily BECAUSE of the vile Garbage Strikes that they've had to endure, in my opinion.
I am NOT anti-union...but actions do have consequences.
I just saw the headlines and knew I had to use them.
I should point out, to be completely transparent here, that I live in an area with garbage-removal provided by a private company, and I haven't noticed any difference in the job that's done...by which I mean, there is still a lot of room for improvement.
I should also point out that I lived in Toronto during the first of the two garbage strikes in recent memory, and, shortly after, moved to Keswick, where, I am happy to say, we had full service while Toronto was being buried in trash and providing a breeding-feeding ground for rats etc...
Not happy that T.O. had to endure that mess, happy that I didn't have to live through it...again.
'Talking Trash' headline originally read 'Trash Talking', it was from Toronto Sun columnist Sue-Ann Levy (not the first time I've enjoyed then used one of her headlines, see thumbnails below)
The second one, also from the Sun, has an arrow that I cut from a 'BINGO' Lottery ticket.
It originally read:
'Ford's political future could hinge on the lid of a garbage bin if private trash service picks up'.
All the snippets of newspaper are sitting on a painting I'm working on.
