Really?
Cannabis makes people lethargic?

It's a good job Linda Hunt was apparently unaware of that, when she jumped to the aid of a police officer lying shot in the hall of a Brampton courthouse.

Linda Hunt has since had her cannabis related charges dropped.
I guess all you have to do to get justice in Ontario is save a cop's life....
Isn't it time we ended this costly cannabis charade, Canada?

Stephen Harper is sending Canadians the wrong message on pot.
Canada: A Just Society? In a truly just society, a judge would determine that Linda Hunt, the woman that saved Constable Michael Klarenbeek's life in a Brampton courtroom,  is NOT a DANGER to SOCIETY for using cannabis.
In fact, in a perfect world, Linda Hunt would be given a medal, instead of having to beg for mercy from a judge, for daring to use cannabis to treat her maladies.
This is our reality in Ontario Canada, on this first day of April.
Justice should also be seen to be done, your...uh..."honour"...
Drop the charges against Linda Hunt.
"Drop the charges" - Gogol Bordello 'Not a Crime'
UPDATE:
Charges against Linda Hunt DROPPED!
DRUNKTANK DOPE: What are the Statistics, Steve? We are all familiar with the terms drunk-driver, drunk-tank, drunk in public, these are things we have adjusted our laws to address. We spend tax money on construction, in the case of the cells used to hold people intoxicated on the legal substance alcohol. We even build and fund havens for those fleeing booze-fueled beatings from their spouses.
It got me wondering about the stats in places where cannabis is now legal.
How many people have been jailed for being under the influence of pot in public?
How much tax money has been spent jailing out-of-order weed users?
What is the number for those who were so out-of-control behind the wheel that they required police intervention?
Accidents caused by those out-of-control herb-using drivers?
Shelters required to protect spouses from marijuana-fueled violence?
We've spent money on drunk-tanks, to deal with the INEVITABLE unruly drunks, but the notion of legalizing cannabis is seen as dangerous by some short-sighted politicians, like Steph
Stephen Harper: The Wrong MessageThe more I hear that fear-mongering radio commercial, the one with a paid actor saying shes worried that Justin Trudeau's stand on Cannabis law reform sends "the wrong message to children", the more I wonder...
Has an election been called?
Why did the Harper administration make it HARDER for people to vote?
What would be the aim of that voter suppression?
Would the paid actor spouting Harper's line prefer the hypocrisy of the legal situation as it stands now?
In Ontario, it's legal-ish, but not legal to sell.
In hospitals all over this country, cannabis is encouraged for Chemo patients. The security turn a blind eye to patients using to reduce bad side effects from the treatment, but bringing weed to that patient may still be deemed a criminal act, instead of compassion.
I would prefer the law be concrete, not wobbly.
The more I hear that propaganda-laden radio ad, the more I think "progressive" "conservative" Stephen Harper is sending ALL Canadians the wrong message, not just "the chi
Stephen Harper is good for business?Depends on the business.
If you are an American entrepreneur, interested in copyrighting and branding a cannabis product, Stephen Harper is your man.
He will ensure Canadian companies get left behind when it comes to developing brand loyalty.
There is a product on sale in Colorado called 'Colorado Cannabis Syrup'. This would be ideal for my arthritis, and I would LOVE to be able to buy a similar product with 'CANADA' on that label, from a CANADIAN company.
Stephen Harper wants to continue to allow police to fine Canadians for using pot, while giving his American friends a distinct advantage in this flourishing industry, because that's the very definition of the title 'fiscal conservative'.
He wants your cash to flow southbound, or into his government coffers, screw Canadian enterprise.

An open letter to Justin Trudeau

You are judged by the company you keep.
Dalton McGuinty and Kathleen Wynne were Premier and Minister of Education when I begged them both, individually, to help me with the disgusting accusations being made by the Catholic School System that Dalton thinks is so 'accountable to us".

Dalton sent me a letter suggesting I contact the "local police" who I'd already reached out to.
Dalton would have KNOWN that, if he'd have pulled his thumb out of his ass and CHECKED before giving me the brush-off.
Kathleen Wynne's people were polite, but unhelpful, and I never got a personal reply from her AT ALL.
After Dalton told me to call the cops I'd already called, those cops decided that it was time to torture and jail me.

So, you see, Justin, no matter how appealing your views on Senate Reform and Cannabis Legality are, I cannot vote for a party that so callously tossed away my reputation.
Death threats.
Police persecution.
A judge, issuing a fine, levied without the catholic school being required to PROVE their allegations, contrary to the Canadian Charter.
I will never pay that fine, because it would be taken as a CONFESSION to something they never proved I did, because I never "harassed" anybody. I defended my name and reputation, which is perfectly legal in this country, isn't it?

I don't reward bad behaviour, Justin, nor should you.

I await my PUBLIC apology for the lies that Dalton and Kathleen ALLOWED to spread until my family and I were put in harms way.

You are judged by the company you keep, Justin...right now, you've got some dead weight hanging around your neck in Ontario.
Don't reward this travesty.

My dead father doesn't need a health card

Service Ontario sent a letter to my father, who died in 2003, requesting "re-registration" of his Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP) Card.
My mom tried to contact them by telephone, but, as a senior citizen, she was unable to navigate their labarynthine phone system.
So she sent back the form, with "DECEASED AUG 4 2003" across it.
We thought that would be the end of it....

...the idiots sent it back. :iconfacepalmplz:

I just left them a strongly worded e-mail, informing them, yet again, that my dead father doesn't much feel like filling in the form they've sent us twice now, so could they please stop wasting our taxes and upsetting my mother.

Hopefully, the message will penetrate their thick fucking skulls this time, but, just in case, I'm going to make this journal entry as available to Ontario Government types as I can.

What a disgusting waste of money.

How many have been FILNERED?

As the sordid activities of San Diego Mayor Robert Filner emerge, it seems to just get worse and worse.
A 67 year old Grandmother was a recent person to come forward.
San Diegans are saying if farm animals could talk there would be more accusations.

An attorney for Bob Filner's dog was quoted as saying "My client says "woof" at this time".

My heart goes out to flood victims in the unfortunately but prophetically named High River Alberta,
I never would have seen that coming...
...but it is the reason I'm never moving to the mountain town of Gigantic Falling Boulders B.C.

Inspector Chris Bullen shouldn't be executed, but...

http://keswickpinhead.deviantart.com/journal/Inspector-Chris-Bullen-shouldn-t-be-executed-but-368657760

Inspector Chris Bullen shouldn't be executed, but he SHOULD be FIRED!
[link]
"A high-ranking officer with York Regional Police has avoided a demotion after admitting he left his post as duty officer during a crisis situation to "deliver personal documents" to an individual.
Duty Insp. Chris Bullen, who is also a former president of the Association of Black Law Enforcers, was brought before the tribunal after police video at Aurora headquarters caught him leaving his post during a dangerous barricade situation involving a mentally unstable woman armed with a knife.
Cameras captured him dressed casually in flip-flops, golf shirt and shorts and driving an unmarked police car.
Once he returned, about an hour later, he dressed in his uniform, however he covered police identifiers with a dark jacket and failed to take his gun belt with him, in contravention of YRP directives." - Jeremy Grimaldi, crime reporter York Region (Metroland Media)

So....Inspector Chris Bullen abandoned his post during an emergency and used tax money to do personal business while out of uniform. Then he concealed his badge number and didn't bring his gun when he finally did decide to return to the job we pay him to do.
What was the nature of the "personal documents" and the name of the "individual" that he spent our money on?
He used our funds to do it, this information should be ours to see.
We the people have a right to know how our police are acting and how our taxes are being spent.

Was he delivering money to his crack dealer?
Was the "personal document" his penis, and the "individual" his mistress?

Since Jeremy Grimaldi seemingly didn't do follow-up questions, but just reported the statement the cops fed him verbatim, we can only speculate.
I am not insinuating that Inspector Chris Bullen is an illegal drug taking philander, that would just be wrong...
...just like it was wrong when YRP made baseless allegations about me.
I'm just asking the questions that are left unanswered by the York Regional Police statement.

There are times in our not-too-distant past that Inspector Chris Bullen, if he'd been in the military when he deserted his post during an emergency, would have been EXECUTED.
I am merely suggesting his employment as a high ranking officer should be terminated.
He doesn't deserve the title of Law-Enforcement Officer.

If we don't make an example of top cops when they break the law, those under their command will think it's perfectly acceptable to similarly commit crime.

Death of Elgie, Originator of the Thong Storyhttp://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/national/former-conservative-cabinet-minister-lawyer-surgeon-robert-elgie-dies-at-84/article10798413/
Doctor Robert Elgie, lawyer, neurosurgeon and former politician, has died at age 84.
Known for many achievements in his life, he will be remembered by me as the guy who, when I called to speak to his wife (School Board Trustee Nancy Elgie), recounted a story about his relative, or in-law, who would ride home from the lake wearing a speedo.
The neighbours used to call the speedo wearer a "nudist", chuckled Mr. Elgie.
I interrupted his merriment at recalling these gossip-mad prudes from his past to remind Mr. Elgie that, although it might be amusing to him that his relative had been called a "nudist", what I was being falsely accused of is a CRIME.
I relayed the story that Mr. Elgie told me to a number of people, including some members of the Catholic School Board, and the York Regional Police force.
As is often the case with GOSSIPS, the police and th
The sliding scales of so-called justiceLet me get this straight....
The underage driver, who crashed after Constable Garret Styles tried to grab the keys in the ignition, should be charged with murder, according to the York Regional Police.
On the other hand, Trevor Middleton, who went out one night with the expressed intent of assaulting Asians (he used the disgusting racist term 'nip-tipping' or 'nipper-tipping') was only convicted of Assault and Criminal Negligence?
Trevor Middleton nearly killed people after he deliberately drove his vehicle like a weapon, yet the police never even charged him with attempted murder.
Why the disparity?
The first crime, though tremendously sad, does not seem to be a premeditated act of violence, racist or otherwise.
The kid was illegally driving a car under the influence of alcohol, and he got caught, which led to a horrible tragedy that left him with a LIFE SENTENCE in a wheelchair as a quadriplegic, and, sadly, left Garret Style's children without a father.
So far, I've seen no evidence
The Assumption is that YOU are to Blamehttp://www.yorkregion.com/news-story/2510909-cruiser-cams-prove-you-re-guilty/
This story, in the Georgina Advocate / Era Banner had two headlines.
'CRUISER CAMS PROVE YOU'RE GUILTY', AND 'CRUISER CAMS CAN PROVE YOUR GUILT'
Both headlines lead me to believe that Metroland Media, the company that publishes the local newspaper, assumed it'll be the public who will be the only ones caught breaking laws by the new video cameras being installed in police cruisers.
Here is my response to the article as first published, detailing what's WRONG about that assumption.
Cruiser cams can not only prove guilt, they can prove innocence. Cameras can not only act as another set of eyes when it becomes an officer's word against that of a driver, but also when it's a citizen's word against a lawbreaking cop.
Evidence gathered from these cameras could (or, at least, SHOULD) be used against police who break the law they've sworn to uphold. A cruiser cam would have been helpful in my case, when "law" office

Rumours of my DeathJust got back from Food Basics, the local grocery store.
A neighbour informed me that there was a nasty rumour going around about me.
Apparently this neighbour (who is one of the GOOD ones) was told that I had committed suicide.
Someone out there in Keswick has been saying that I hanged myself last week....charming.
Who knows? Perhaps this rumour-peddler heard that I was well-hung and got confused.
So I told my neighbour to tell the gossip "That's preposterous! Why would he hang himself after being elected Prime Minister of the Moon?".
It's about as likely as what was being stated as fact.
To those involved in this recent tittle-tattle: I'm afraid you're not going to get rid of me that easily.
Wishing doesn't make it so.
Much to the disappointment of some curtain-twitching gossip-mongers, the rumours of my death have been wildly exaggerated.

People are more healthy now, since Monsanto genetically modified our food...

As is often the case with GOSSIPS, the police and the Catholic School Board started spreading a story insinuating that I had been the one, as "detective" Peter Duguay said, who had been "riding around town wearing a thong"...

Their ears apparently slammed shut after they heard the word 'bike', 'speedo' and 'nudist', but they couldn't even get the 'speedo' part right.
So, very very close to professional, while simultaneously lacking any moral integrity.

So, Robert Elgie is dead, but his story lives on, as a mutated tale, told by rumour-mongers and vicious gossips, at great expense to honest law-abiding tax-payers.
